Quirky luxury hotels - V8 vintage car hotel

Sleeping in a car may not be your idea of luxury travel, but at the V8 Hotel in Stuttgart, Germany it truly is. Fulfilling the fantasies of all men and little boys, or just anyone mad about anything to do with wheels and engines, the V8 Hotel provides four star luxuries combined with vintage cars and unique design.

Sleep in an old Chevrolet under a starry night sky while at the drive-in, or a Volkswagen Beetle filling up with petrol at the garage, get clean while you sleep in the car wash, or lay your head at the old car scrap heap. Each room is totally unique in its design and filled with real automobile parts and tools.

But it’s not all about sleeping in stationary cars either, as the hotel provides shuttle services, guided tours, stylish joyrides and even test drives in models straight from a car enthusiasts’ dream. Arrive at the hotel in a Bentley, or enjoy a guided tour in a Mercedes Pullman 600, once belonging to President Mobutu of the former Congo.

And contrary to popular opinion, playing about and sleeping in cars is not all dirty work here, as the hotel has its very own fitness suite and wellness centre where you can sweat it out in the sauna, relax under the rain shower and de-stress with a soothing heat treatment.

But if you don’t fancy this, then you can always go down to the old timer trading hall in town to relax and view a host of rare automobiles.

This is definitely luxury with a difference and somewhere we think non car enthusiasts will be raving about too.

The strange story-book world of Winvian is an enchanting playground where anything goes. Looking at the cottage map, you’d probably be forgiven for thinking this was a map of the ‘Hundred Acre Wood’, right out of story of Winnie the Pooh, complete with names such as Tree House, Log Cabin, Beaver Lodge, Secret Society and Charter Oak.
