Flyers dream of massage chairs and iPads
The dream luxury airplane would feature massage chairs, free use of iPads and transparent floors and ceilings for better views, according to a survey by Skyscanner.
Although we may have to wait quite a while before we’re viewing London’s skyline from beneath our feet, luckily the most sought after luxury that travellers wanted to see on their dream airplane – capsule style bunks for sleeping in - currently exists in some first class cabins.
However, not much can be done about passengers main annoyance - which appears to be other people’s children. 18 per cent of those questioned wanted a sound-proof section for young ones and a further eight per cent wished for anti-kick seats.
Even the basic facilities on an aircraft need a bit of an upgrade, according to passengers – the toilet could benefit from an added shower cubicle, the drinks could come from a cocktail bar and in-flight entertainment would be much more captivating if there was an in-flight cinema.
Skyscanner’s Mary Porter commented: “Sadly as appealing as many of these features sound, we are not aware of any airline’s plans to include them at the moment – although for those fliers lucky enough to fly upper class some dream features such as beds, showers and cocktail bars are indeed be part of their luxury flying experience. For the rest of us it will continue to be just a dream.”
