Cape Town is said to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world, located right on the coast, overlooking the famous Atlantic Seaboard and set in the shade of the impressive Table Mountain. Cape Town has a glitzy and glamorous nightlife, where the beautiful come to gather in stunning rooftop bars, beachside clubs and elegant wine bars.

The Leopard Bar - Situated in the Twelve Apostles Hotel, which sits under the shadow of the magnificent 12 Apostles and Table Mountain, this swish safari style cocktail lounge comes complete with leopard print rugs and cushions, leather sofas and jungle patterned wall paper. The Leopard Bar's regal elegance gives the feel of a colonial style safari lodge and its stunning views out to sea make it a great place to come for a pre dinner drink. Sample a range of fine cognacs or try the fashionable "Cosmo" and Vanilla Chocatini; a martini made with Stolichnaya vanilla vodka and white crème de cacao, garnished with a chocolate flake and maraschino cherry. This is also an excellent place to come for afternoon tea - its chocolate brownies, scones with cream and jam and finger sandwiches have become somewhat of an institution with the locals.

Sit on the elegant canopied white beds filled with cushions, for one of the best spots in the city to enjoy a sundowner, looking out at the famous streaking orange sunset across the bay.

Opium - Opium is a trendy cigar lounge and whisky bar - a favourite with Cape Town locals. It stylishly blends a chic lounge with party night club style vibes and great funk tunes. Set in what used to be the stables of an old castle, the award-winning decor is enough to tell you that this is the place to be seen, with a large open dance floor, submarine couches, subdued red lighting and a large medieval style castle door behind the DJ booth. Come here to dance and try out their impressive range of whiskies or dance the night away.

Planet Bar - This chic and elegant cocktail and champagne bar in the Mount Nelson Hotel has a slightly more sophisticated feel, with classic regal style furniture, hanging crystal chandeliers and magnificent fire places. In the summer it’s a great spot for people watching from the stylish terrace, and in winter the perfect place for curling up in front of the fire with a glass of local wine.
