Luxury travel auction: Valentine's dinner aboard the Concorde

Thursday, 9 February 2012 10:45 AM

This week British Airways are giving couples the chance to spend Valentine’s Day eating a luxurious meal-for-two on the famous Concorde aircraft.

BA are auctioning off the prize to raise money for Flying Start and Comic Relief. The highest bidder in the e-mail auction, which anyone can enter, will win a evening aboard the plane on Febuary 14th.

The Concorde has become synonymous with luxury living, celebrity lifestyle and glamorous travel. Although the jet is no longer in service, the winning couple will be treated to an evening of red-carpet glamour aboard the stationary craft. For luxury travellers, the chance to see the Concorde up close and personal will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Dinner for two, in the main cabin of plane, will include a three course meal prepared by a top chef, and a bottle of champagne.

To apply, entrants must send an email to valentines.concorde@ba.com and state their name, contact details, and how much they would like to pay for the desirable prize.

Cheshire toastmaster Ian Parrott, who launched the auction this week, said: “Concorde has always offered the ultimate in romance, you don’t have to fly anywhere to appreciate the very intimate and luxurious surroundings of this beautiful aircraft. To have it all to yourself for one evening is possibly the most romantic gesture you can make.”

The prize is reserved at a £500 bid and the auction closes at midnight on Sunday, Febuary 12th.
