Consider Spain's most popular islands for a chic break
Jetting off on holidays to Spain is the ideal way to pamper yourself with a week or more spent relaxing in style. However, for a particularly chic getaway, you should consider visiting one of the country's popular islands for your break, such as Tenerife or Lanzarote.
Tenerife has long been known as one of the party hotspots of Spain, but the largest of the Canary Islands is also the perfect destination if you are looking for a chilled break in stunning surroundings.
On a visit here you can expect to want to spend many an hour lying back on the spectacular beaches and soaking up the sun.
Should you wish to be more active, this is also a great place to come to if you are a keen walker, as there are lush forests, tall mountains and even volcanoes to be explored.
The Parque Rural de Anaga is a particularly-beautiful place to visit and is well situated for you to take in views of the Macizo de Anaga. There are also historic sites to stop off at on your way, such as the Castillo de San Andres, which once served as a place where locals could protect their town from pirate attack.
If you really want to treat yourself, book in for a stay at the Hotel Riu Palaca Tenerife, which enjoys an amazing seafront location.
As a guest here, you will only have 150 m to walk in order to reach the Playa del Duque, which is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in the area. You will also find shops you can visit nearby where you could stock up on gifts and souvenirs, along with restaurants should you fancy eating away from your resort for a night.
However, if you prefer to spend the majority of time at your hotel, you will be kept busy with its many facilities, which include two outdoor pools, tennis courts, a gym, a boutique, bars and restaurants.
Lanzarote is another popular Canary Islands destination that could tempt you if you are looking for a chic holiday.
Enjoying just as much blue sky and sunshine as Tenerife, the island also boasts plenty of striking natural scenery, with the Timanfaya National Park a particularly-popular spot among visitors, thanks to its volcanic landscape.
The destination is also a favourite with surfers and sailors, while scuba divers will find plenty to keep them busy thanks to the abundance of life beneath the waves.
Whatever you do though, staying at the Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort is sure to see you having a chic getaway.
Your accommodation is close to Playa Blanca, a white sand beach that is a firm favourite among visitors to the island, and it is also close to shops and restaurants.
Yet you may find you are loathe to leave your resort, which has five bars and seven restaurants to choose from, so could mean you dine out at a different place every night of your holiday without actually leaving your resort!
Each restaurant is themed after a different country and you can expect the menus to reflect this. After eating you could enjoy drinks in the lobby bar while listening to the live pianist, before heading to the 4 Lunas Jazz Bar for an evening of music and cocktails.
These are just two of Spain's beautiful islands. On your next visit, you could base yourself on Gran Canaria or Fuerteventura, or head to the Balearics of Ibiza, Menorca and Majorca.
