London's Capital Hotel celebrates 40 years
One of London’s last family-run, chic five-star hotels is celebrating its fortieth anniversary this year. The Capital Hotel, long established as one of London’s finest hotels, is located between Harrods and Harvey Nichols on a discreet street in the ever fashionable Knightsbridge, and celebrates 40 years of outstanding British hospitality this year.
Since the Capital Hotel was opened in 1971 by David Levin it has gained a reputation for its ‘Capital experience’ which starts the moment guests walk into the lobby.
The Capital Hotels 49 luxurious bedrooms are currently being thrust into the modern era with an on-going refurbishment and promises to mix classic English design with attention to detail touches.
Boasting one of the leading dining experiences in London, the Capital Restaurant has been the home to many celebrated head chefs. Current head chef Jérôme Ponchelle joined in 2009, and is making his mark on the restaurant’s history, serving a menu which mixes creative flair with more classic dishes.
To celebrate its 40 birthday, from 12 May the restaurant will be serving a degustation menu (six courses at £70, or £128 including wine) of highlights from the previous four decades.
The Capital Hotel will be offering special birthday rates during the month of August, with rooms starting from £197.10.
