Growing demand for ‘sail-rail’ holidays has prompted Great Rail Journeys to introduce the ultimate getaway experience for 2011.

Joining forces with Star Clippers, the rail travel operator is giving holidaymakers the chance to experience an ‘exclusive Mediterranean cruise holiday’ on the world’s tallest sailing ship.

Combining a journey by rail with a holiday at sea is a great way to get two different holiday experiences in one single trip.

The new itinerary combines scenic journeys with civilised hotel stays in Paris, Venice and Rome – all on First Class of course!

After the five-star rail journey, travellers will board the Royal Clipper for a ten-night luxury cruise in the Mediterranean.

Taking in Croatia, Montenegro, Corfu, Sicily, Capri, Ponza and finally Rome, the exclusive cruise is ideal for both sightseeing and relaxing experiences.

With all the luxurious facilities available to guests on board the spectacular ship, passengers can sit back and relax the warm climate and beautiful surroundings.

More and more holidaymakers are looking for getaways that offer something out of the ordinary.

With demand for the tradition package holiday slowly decreasing, luxury travels that a wide range of experiences are becoming increasingly popular.
