The best spas in LA: where to relax

Thursday, 24 May 2012 9:18 AM

LA is the ideal destination to head to if you want to experience some of the glitz and glamour that celebrities do. From designer shops on Rodeo Drive to gorgeous beaches, you will find everything you need for a relaxing break, including top spas.

Fly to America by business class and you can start your chic getaway as you mean to go on, including complimentary drinks and meals, a quicker check-in and access to a private airport lounge before you step onboard the plane.

If you want to get a taste of the preening and pampering that LA's biggest stars go under, make sure you head to at least one of these top spas. If you have any stresses or strains from back home, they'll soon melt away.

Four Seasons Hotel

Whether or not you're staying at this beautiful hotel at 300 South Doheny Drive in Beverley Hills, the spa facilities here are worth visiting. The spa is open between 09:00 and 22:00 local time, so you should easily be able to fit a deep tissue massage or facial in between your sightseeing and leisurely lunches. Some of the signature treatments you can enjoy include the Margarita Scrub, which is a blend of pure oils such as apple and lime, as well as the Bio-Energizing Wrap, which uses Himalayan salt crystals.

Trilogy Spa

Located at Manhattan Beach, Trilogy Spa is perfectly placed for you to step off the sand after a hard day's tanning and straight into its relaxing surroundings. Boasting 6,500 sq ft of amenities, you can enjoy everything from a Moana tub plunge to a Vichy rainbar - if you've never heard of these before, they are certainly an experience! Signature treatments here include a personal tuition to show you and a friend or loved one how to properly massage one another, while the Hawaiian hot stone massage uses traditional Lomi-Lomi techniques.

Olympic Spa

This is an Asian spa and retreat located on West Olympic Boulevard that uses Eastern treatments that are designed to be as peaceful and relaxing as possible. Before you do anything, make sure you take a dip in the Warm Mineral Pool, which will help relax your muscles for a massage and open up your pores for a facial. The massages focus on positive qui, or energy. Select the Zone Perfect Massage - which uses shiatsu methods - and the therapist will unblock energy points to help boost your health and activity levels.
