World’s most expensive spa treatments
Diamonds, rubies, placentas and bottled water are just some of the ingredients used in spa treatments these days, all in the name of making us look younger, more revitalised, smoother and softer. These are just some of the world’s most expensive spa treatments, favourites with both actresses, athletes and pop stars.
Facial at BORBA skincare
Cost: £4,437
This luxury facial from BORBA skincare recently made the headlines with its hefty price tag, after actress Mila Kunis of Black Swan fame, admitted that she spends $7,000 for one of these beauties. And we’re not surprised that it costs that much, considering it contains both rubies and diamonds, which are supposed to provide antioxidants and give the skin a lustrous sheen.
Evian Bath
Cost: £3,169
The spa at the Hotel Victor in Florida offers one of the most expensive baths you’ll ever have, which is apparently filled with 350 gallons of pure Evian spring water and sprinkled with rose petals. The bath is said to revitalise your skin and purify your senses and has been used by none other than tennis star Serena Williams.
Placenta Facial
Cost: around £640 and above
No this not just a name, this facial really does contain placentas. The treatment, originally discovered by Russian scientists is a favourite with actress and pop legend Jennifer Lopez and uses the ground up placentas of cows. The facial is said to reduce the signs of ageing and provide nutrients to the skin. Placentas are said to be the future of beauty care, so watch out.
The Clearing Factor
Cost: £617
This treatment at the Mandarin Oriental in New York is dedicated to restoring and clearing the body by using a sequence of intensive detoxifying therapies. The treatment starts with a full body exfoliation using a blend of fine grain Dead Sea salt and kama oil, followed by lymph drainage, a Swedish massage and traditional cupping. It culminates in a body wrap made from Neem black clay.

The luxury facial at Spa Radiance in San Francisco has become so famous that people come from all over the world to experience it. It lasts three hours and begins with a meticulous cleansing, followed by a dazzling diamond peel, and deep lymphatic drainage.
