A guide to London's celebrity haunts
By booking a cheap hotel in London, you can save some money to spend enjoying yourself in what is the largest city in Europe. If you really want to treat yourself, make your way to some of the haunts frequented by the country's celebrities.
You could find yourself following in the footsteps of a famous pop star, an Oscar-winning actor or even royalty! For our tips on the top places to spot the rich and famous, read on.
The Ivy
When you think of celebrity haunts in London, this is probably the first place that springs to mind. Over the years, everybody who's anybody has booked a table at this swanky eatery and there is almost always a bank of paparazzi parked outside waiting to snap a famous face.
However, unless you really are one of the rich and famous, don't expect to just turn up and be seated. You will need to book well in advance to be sure of securing a table.
Nobu
This is fast overtaking The Ivy as the place to dine if you want to be noticed. Everyone from Kate Moss to Brad Pitt has tucked into the delicious sushi on offer here.
Located on Old Park Lane, the venue's menu has both Asian and South American influences and as you eat you'll be able to enjoy views of Hyde Park - that is, if you can tear your eyes away from the famous faces dining alongside you!
The Hawley Arms
Once you've had a bite to eat, you'll be in the mood for a drink, in which case there are plenty of places you can try. If you are more excited about catching sight of the latest up-and-coming band, or a member of the indie elite, make your way to Camden.
The Hawley Arms is frequented by rock and roll comedians The Mighty Boosh, as well as those blessed with famous parents, like Kelly Osbourne.
The Punchbowl
For a real fighting chance of spotting a celebrity, check out this boozer. The Georgian building on Far Street is owned by film director Guy Richie, who has been known to bring some of the actors he works with here. Just don't expect to see his ex-wife Madonna when you visit!
Funkybuddha
Once you've had a couple of drinks, you'll be ready to hit the dance floor and see if you can impress a celebrity with your moves. Head to Funkybuddha in Mayfair and you may just be in luck.
This swish nightspot is a wonder to behold thanks to its stunning decor, and it is also known for its amazing music. It may be suitably gloomy inside, but keep an eye out as that might just be your favourite pop star or actor grooving on the dance floor!
Boujis
This is the place to come if you want to party into the small hours. Only the young, rich and beautiful are seen here and you're certain to want to join them.
Boujis is a club where opulence is the word du jour, as revellers order bottles of champagne to enjoy as they sink a little Dutch courage before getting on the dance floor. There is something different going on every night so you could even treat yourself to more than one visit.
By scheduling a trip to one of these establishments into your London holiday, it won't be long before you're feeling like a VIP!
