Special London afternoon tea created for the Queen’s Jubilee
Guoman Hotels’ historic five-star London property - The Royal Horseguards is inviting guests to celebrate all things British with an afternoon tea to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Served on the hotel’s intimate terrace with views over the River Thames and the iconic London Eye, the afternoon tea features delights created by resident pastry chef Joanne Todd exclusively to commemorate the Queen’s 60 years on the throne.
The tea begins with a selection of finger sandwiches, including her majesty’s favourite - roast beef; followed by an array of very British biscuits shaped like red buses, Union Jacks and Big Ben; a decadent crown jewel cup cake and a Yorkshire rhubarb Queen Pudding. Other treats include dark chocolate peppermint creams, which pay homage to the Queen’s favourite childhood sweets; a lemon and martini meringue pie, inspired by her tipple of choice; and of course English scones served with Bramley apple compote, homemade English strawberry jam and Cornish clotted cream.
Having been recently accredited with membership to the esteemed UK Tea Guild, The Royal Horseguards ‘A Very British Afternoon Tea’ will be served from May 21 until June 17 2012.
