New York Restaurant Week - culinary delights

Tuesday, 3 May 2011 9:59 AM

The dates for Summer Restaurant Week in New York have been announced today, with this year’s event marking the twentieth year the world’s first ever annual Restaurant Week took place.

The fabulously delicious culinary event will take place from 11-24 July 2011, with prices for the prix-fixe three-course meals remaining, for the twelfth consecutive season, at $24.07 (approximately £14.50) for lunch and $35 (£21) for dinner.

Diners will be able to take advantage of the limited-time value from Mondays to Fridays. Prix-fixe menus are not available on Saturdays, while Sundays are optional for participating restaurants.

The organisation behind the gastronomic event, NYC & Company, is excited to begin commemorating NYC Restaurant Week’s vibrant history, according to their CEO George Fertitta.

He said: “This season we are looking to thank all of the people throughout the industry-from the chefs to the wait staff who have helped make NYC Restaurant Week a success over the years.

“We anticipate summer 2011 to be the largest culinary celebration to date and encourage locals and visitors alike to start marking their calendars."
