Celebrate Valentine's Day in...Wales!

Tuesday, 8 February 2011 9:54 AM

A number of loved up couples choose to spend their romantic break in places that are not typically thought of as the most romantic, a new poll reveals.

The Owners Direct survey showed that 70 per cent of people asked said that what makes a good couple’s retreat is not the destination but the person you are with.

One male respondent admitted taking his partner to the ‘Heineken Final in Cardiff’ for their romantic weekend getaway. Other people surveyed cited Glasgow, Manchester, Chester and Lynmouth in the UK and Dubrovnic and Prague in Europe as their romantic destination.

Even as many respondents said they would consider less obvious romantic destinations, the survey revealed that 88 per cent of people asked said their ideal romantic destination would be Paris or Rome.

With Valentine’s Day less than a week away, a number of couples are planning their romantic getaway these days...and perhaps Cardiff could be the ideal romantic spot.
