airberlin to serve London Gatwick
Two new services linking Hanover and Nuremberg with London Gatwick have been announced by airberlin, giving passengers more choice for a short break escape to Germany.
Launching on 7 February 2011, the new flights will be serving the south London airport from February until October 2011.
Taking off twice a day from both German airports, there will be plenty of choice for travellers to enjoy a short break on the continent from next year.
Gatwick will be the second airport in London after Stansted served by the German airline. airberlin already operates direct flights from Düsseldorf, Münster/Osnabrück and Paderborn to London Stansted, none of which will be affected by the new services.
The popularity of Germany as a short break destination has seen a range of new routes and services being launched from the UK. Earlier this week, Flybe also announced that it will be operating flights to the German city of Düsseldorf from Exeter Airport.
